Everything You Need to Know for Your Pre & Post travelling
Need travel insurance? Let us help.
Learn the Basics about your Destination
It's a big world with lots of places to see and even more things to do, but before you go, it's worth learning the basics about your destinations. There are different cultures, laws and customs. Some places require Visas, some places don't take credit cards, other places need inoculations. Always check with your travel agent or the government of the country you're visiting for the latest info.

Electrical Information
All computers are electronic devices and should be used only with a transformer in foreign countries. Wattage of the transformer will depend upon wattage of the battery charger or computer. View Electrical Information for foriegn countries.
Review Carry-On Restrictions
The restrictions for carry-on luggage sizes have become progressively tighter, particularly for charter airlines. Also be sure to measure and weigh your luggage before heading to the airport. Check also with carrier websites, as different airlines have different regulations.
Travel Documentation
- A parent travelling alone with children must have a notarized "permission" letter from the other parent or parents when entering most countries. This is a serious matter for most airline carriers who will not let you board without such documents.
- Travel insurance should not be an option, it should be a priority. $50,000 to $100,000 dollars in medical costs is common. Don't take the risk.
- A passport is recommended for all travel outside Canada.
- Remember to always take important documentation and medication with you as a carry-on, in case of lost or delayed baggage.
Travel Vaccinations
The Canadian Government recommends vaccinations for many of the sun destination countries. Check out our very own Travel Clinic for more information or call 204-982-9489.
